BFF Lookbook ft. Hannah T.

Posted on September 02, 2018

To celebrate our 10 years of friendship together, my best friend-Hannah (on the right) and I decided to create a BFF LOOKBOOK for you guys! In this lookbook, we've put together 4 BFF outfits: each matching a different occasion.

Please understand that twinning does not mean wearing the same exact outfits! Looking exactly the same just makes you look like you "copy and paste" on each other. You'll need to play with all the different colours, fabrics and accessories to create a look that exclusively suits each of your own unique style. We've also included some tips and ideas on how to dress in your own styles with the "BFF-twinning magic" effect.

These photos were taken in Wellington, New Zealand while we were on our #RHJtravels vacation. All these outfits can also easily be tuned to suit you and your friends' personal styles. Happy reading!

BALLERINA FRIENDS

I absolutely love love love skater skirts. It's definitely one of women's MUST HAVE item in their closet. I just love how the design of the skirt compliments every body shape. They usually come in many different colours, so you and your friends can match it with your own favourite colours.

Besides, you can pull-off skater skirts with any top, jacket and shoes. To keep warm during the winter, you can wear it with a pair leggings, stockings, long knee socks or a pair of boots like I did. Since we are doing a BFF Lookbook, we've decided to wear the same bare back bodysuits from Forever 21.

FLOWER POWER

What better way to display your feminine side than with floral-patterned clothings and going on a shopping spree with your bestie(s). We girls know that nothing beats a trip to the mall with your bestfriend(s)!

Here, I've donned a beautiful Floral Maxi Middle Slit Dress from Cotton On. I paired it with white floral sneakers from Topshop to give a little edge to my feminine look.

To give this look a contrasting twist, my friend Hannah wore a very elegant Self Tie Front Wrap Floral Shirt from Cotton On and paired it with black ripped jeans from Factorie. Her sandals helped tone down the formal-ness of her outfit; making her look and feel more casual.

TUBEY-TWINNIES

Tube top is another trend from the aught that's making a comeback into one of 2018's hottest fashion trends! Just like skater skirts, a tube top can easily be paired with anything; from tights to jeans, skirts, dungarees and even loose/baggy pants like the ones we wore. Because there are endless choices of colours for tube tops out there, you can safely match your bestie's outfit without the worry of looking exactly the same.

Because we took this lookbook in the midst of freezing winter, we decided to add on a faux fur puffer jacket to keep warm. Our boots were also helped to keep us warm and to give our overall outfit an "oomph" finish.

Jacket: H&M

SWEATER SISTERS

A sweater is another MUST HAVE item in every girl's closet! Whether it's a lazy lay-in day at home or a day out with your girlfriend(s), a sweater is both a comfy and fashionable top. During winter, you can layer it with a t-shirt or a long-sleeve top inside. You can also wear an inner thermal top for extra warmth. Since it was not that cold when we did this, I wore a black singlet inside mine, and Hannah wore a black bralette crop with hers.

Our sweater from H&M were designed to have a drop shoulder style. One of the perks of this type of sweater is that you can wear it both ways (refer to the pictures below): the casual/normal way or in a cheeky drop shoulder style.

Another tip for sweater is to always get one or two size bigger. A tight sweater is not attractive at all(nor as comfortable as it can actually be). Besides, a bigger sweater can also help hide all those extra winter snacks you've been bingeing due to the cold...

A sweater (depending on their design) can basically be worn over any outfit. I do however, prefer to wear them with long pants. Here, I've paired it with a faux leather leggings, also from H&M. Hannah wore hers with a cotton leggings from SHEIN. We both completed our outfits with sports shoes to give it a casual and sporty feel.

FYI, the socks I wore were a gift from Jacob and it was his birthday when we were shooting this, therefore I had them on. I'm just wearing it to make him happy! I mean it's his birthday, so that man is the boss - at least for that one day. I suggest you pick socks that matches with your sweater if they can be seen with your shoes on. However, if you like your socks to pop, you do you.
